Here are 20 basic Linux commands:
1. ls – Lists files and directories
2. cd – Changes the current directory
3. pwd – Displays the present working directory
4. mkdir – Creates a new directory
5. rmdir – Removes an empty directory
6. rm – Deletes files or directories
7. cp – Copies files or directories
8. mv – Moves or renames files and directories
9. touch – Creates a new file
10. cat – Displays the contents of a file
11. nano – Opens a simple text editor (Nano)
12. vim – Opens an advanced text editor (Vim)
13. echo – Prints text to the terminal
14. chmod – Changes file or directory permissions
15. chown – Changes file or directory ownership
16. df – Displays disk space usage
17. du – Shows the size of files or directories
18. ps – Displays currently running processes
19. kill – Terminates a running process
20. grep – Searches for a pattern in a file
