Govt. Invites Hackers to Identify Ehsaas Program’s Security Vulnerabilities

The federal government has decided to invite ethical hackers to identify digital security vulnerabilities of the Ehsaas program, the PTI government’s flagship program for poverty alleviation.

According to details, an ethical hacking competition will be held as part of implementing the Vulnerability Disclosure Policy (VDP) of the Ehsaas program.
In this regard, SAPM on Poverty Alleviation and Social Protection, Dr. Sania Nishtar, also chaired a joint meeting of Risk Assurance and Management and Audit Committees of the BISP Board.

Since Ehsaas program’s operations are largely digital, it is critical to ensure that robust IT safety measures and protocols are in place, noted Dr. Sania during the meeting.
After assuming office as the SAPM in May 2019, Dr. Sania has implemented more than 100 measures to consolidate the IT infrastructure of the Ehsaas program.
Besides, the DG IT Ehsaas program apprised the meeting with the progress made on setting up the program’s Cyber Control Wing. The official informed that the scope of the CCW and TORs for hiring experts was recently finalized and applications have been sought for various posts of the CCW.
