In 2004, Samsung first introduced the swivel camera, a high-end mobile phone feature, to entry-level bar phones, launching the SGH-X608, a cost-effective camera phone.
The Samsung X608 adopts a bar form factor, a design rarely used by Samsung, reminiscent of the classic N628 model. The phone measures 102×42.5×19.9mm and weighs 85 grams. At a glance, if you cover the brand logo, it looks more like a Motorola.
The front panel of the X608 features an elegant and stable classic blue, with the surrounding area and the back primarily in a stylish and noble silver-white. In terms of the keyboard, the five-way navigation key is retained. However, unlike typical five-way navigation keys, the center button is not the confirm key but a shortcut key to activate the WAP browser. The four function keys are symmetrically arranged on both sides of the navigation key, and the numeric keys are densely packed below the function keypad in a wavy design. Although they appear a bit small with short vertical and horizontal spacing, the overall key touch is quite good, providing users with excellent operational feedback.
The X608 uses a 128×128 pixel 65,536-color UFB screen with relatively vivid and colorful display effects. It is equipped with mainstream 40-chord ringtones, 39 built-in ringtones, and multiple incoming call modes. The Samsung X608 is equipped with a VGA camera with a flash, and its 180-degree rotating lens fully meets users' needs for different shooting angles. The 300,000-pixel camera supports seamless digital zoom and a maximum resolution of 640×480, making it easier to capture wonderful moments. The Samsung X608, with a large-capacity phonebook of 1000 entries, provides users with ample and convenient management space. The business card-style management supports up to 5 phone numbers, email addresses, caller ID photos, and group settings. The X608 supports JAVA MIDP 1.0 and is equipped with approximately 600K of dedicated storage space for users to download and use.
