A virus has appeared on iPhones that reads data from photos
Kaspersky Lab has detected the SparkCat Trojan in the App Store and Google Play. It steals data from photos stored on the device. The app requests access to the photos, and the Trojan analyzes the text in the images (!!!!) and sends it to the attackers if it contains any useful or sensitive information.
The virus was detected in dozens of apps disguised as messaging apps, chatbots, food delivery apps, and more. These apps have already been downloaded more than 242,000 times from Google Play. No such data is available for iOS. Company experts emphasized that this is the first time such apps have appeared in the App Store.
