YouTube Unveils New Digital Twin Creation Feature



YouTube has introduced a new feature that allows users to create a digital “clone” avatar for their video content.

According to Google, the tool enables creators to generate an AI-powered avatar that reflects their personality and appearance, helping them produce videos that look and sound like themselves even without being on camera.

A company spokesperson said that only the user will have control over creating and managing their avatar, ensuring that no one else can generate or manipulate it without permission.

The feature also allows avatars to be used in remixable videos, where other users may remix content featuring the avatar, but they will not be able to alter or control the original avatar itself.

Google further clarified that if a user deletes their avatar, all associated data— including selfie videos and voice recordings used for creation—will be permanently removed from YouTube servers.

The company added that users can delete their avatars at any time, and all AI-generated content created using the tool will be clearly labeled.
