Samsung Releases Second Update for Galaxy S23: 36 Vulnerabilities Patched
Samsung has released another software update for the Galaxy S23 series. This is the second such update the manufacturer has prepared for its flagship smartphones, which were unveiled in early 2023. The first update previously brought One UI 8.5 to the devices.
The latest update, with firmware version 91XBXXSAFZE1, is now available to owners of the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra in India. The May 2026 security update was released slightly later than planned, which is understandable. During this period, Samsung was actively distributing the stable version of One UI 8.5 to several compatible smartphones and tablets, which caused the delay.
As for the update's content, the May security update fixes 36 vulnerabilities discovered in Samsung Galaxy devices running the Android operating system. In addition to fixing security vulnerabilities, the manufacturer also appears to have addressed a number of bugs and performance issues that may have appeared after installing One UI 8.5.
Galaxy S23 owners in India can now check for the update. To do so, go to "Settings," then "Software Update," and tap the corresponding button. After the file downloads from Samsung's servers, all you have to do is tap "Install Now." The entire process takes only a few minutes, but make sure your battery is at least 30 percent charged before beginning the installation.
