In JohnCMS 9.6, work has been done to fix bugs, improve usability, and also improve compatibility with various hostings. If you had installation problems and this bothered you, then it's time to try the new version.

Added the ability to change the covers of articles in the library when editing
When you click on the icon and the number of comments in the list of news, the transition to the comments takes place.
In the comments to the news, when answering and quoting, scrolling has been added to the comment input field.
Scrolling to the top of the list of comments has been added when navigating through pages in news comments.

Improved checks in the image handler. (allows you to avoid errors when inserting images incorrectly)
Improved processing of links to videos in youtube (some links might not be processed)
On some hostings, there could be a problem with displaying images due to insufficient access rights (now images are saved with the correct access rights)
Moderators could not delete posts in the guestbook
Improved compatibility with hostings that use MariaDB as a database server.
When viewing a photo on the detail page in albums, the picture might not fit on the screen and added horizontal scrolling.
During installation, a table with files was not created, which led to errors when loading pictures in the editor.


Upgrading from version 9.5
1. Be sure to back up the current site.
2. If you have changed any system files (for example, routes.local.php and other files), save your changes for porting after the upgrade.
3. Unpack the archive with the replacement of existing files and folders.
4.If you performed a clean installation of JohnCMS 9.5 and loading pictures in the editor does not work for you, then go to:your.site/install/update_941_950.php
5. Delete the install folder

This completes the update, you can use it.
